Summer in the Village
Summer in the Village is an 6 week program for elementary and middle school youth, to help our scholars understand what it means to be a positive member of the Village. How to care for each other, work together, support each other, build together, and have fun together!
We will focus on the following areas:

- Self Empowerment - our scholars will learn to use their voices in a positive way. To tell their own stories in their own voices, and to speak up when they see an injustice.
- Social Justice - our scholars will learn the history of the social justice movement, the role that young people have always played in it, and how they can become actively engaged in social justice in their own communities.
- Cultural History - our scholars will learn about their history, where they come from, who the important people are in history, and what the REAL truth is about the history of this country.
- Education - our scholars will spend time working on literacy and math, while learning to apply those skills in every day situations, such as reading contracts, filling out job applications, counting change, or balancing a checkbook.
