Thank you for your interest in Summer in the Village!
Priority registration is given to returning families. If there are remaining spots open after returning families have registered, we will accept registrations for new scholars beginning May 1st.
Registration is open to scholars in Kindergarten through 6th grade. We have multiage classrooms, with no more than 10 scholars in each classroom.
Attendance is very important during Summer in the Village. Scholars are expected to be on time, every day, for all 6 weeks. If you plan to take a vacation during June or July this summer, SIV will not work for your family.
Parent involvement is also very important. Parents are expected to attend Family Events during the 6 week summer program, to continue involvement in the Village Vibe program throughout the year, and to be engaged and supportive of your scholar(s).
All families must attend Orientation, which will be sometime in May. Your scholar will not be officially enrolled until after you have completed orientation, turned in all paperwork, and paid any applicable fees.

Please know that SIV is not just a place for your scholar to hang out for the summer. SIV is a deliberate choice for families who have a strong interest in Self-Empowerment, Social Justice, Cultural History, Parental Involvement, Behavioral Excellence, Literacy, and Having Fun!
At Rebuilding the Village, we have very high expectations of our scholars. We believe that they have the ability to be excellent and we expect that they will work to achieve that excellence every day. There is no greater joy than to see a scholar realize their greatness and strive to live into it!
We also have high expectations of our parents. We expect our parents to support their scholars by ensuring that they are at SIV every day, that they are well rested and ready to do their best work. We expect our parents to support their scholars by attending Family Events and by encouraging them to always do their best!
We have high expectations for ourselves. We expect our staff to challenge our scholars, to never accept less than the best that a scholar is able to give. We expect our staff to encourage our scholars to go to the next level and to always remind them of their greatness. We will remember that although we expect their very best, they are still young people, learning to make their way in a world that is quite often overwhelming and unforgiving. So when things get rough, we will give hugs, and we will forgive, and we will start over. While we expect excellence, we will never expect perfection.
Please contact Michelle Higgins for registration information.
